Graduate Internship

Description

During the summer of 2019 I did an internship at the Avenir for my MA degree in History. With Dr. Katie Knowles as my mentor, I received a "crash course" in textile museum practices! From cataloguing cabinets, to building storage and display mounts, the learning (and fun) never ended! For those who think museums are always serious, try changing and dressing mannequins! It was simultaneously a learning experience and a source of great laughter! Working with all the staff and volunteers made the internship even better than I thought possible. I can't wait to be back.
